Australian first in asset management saves 47% in operational costs

Downer: In
an Australian first, Downer and the
Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) have achieved the renewal of ISO 55001
asset management system certification for the
Yarra Park
Water Recycling Facility. This world-class facility treats and
re-uses sewage from the local sewer network and waters the grounds
surrounding the MCG.
Through the
ISO 55001-certified system, the recycling facility has
delivered outstanding results for the MCC, including:

A 47 per cent operational cost saving

Approximately 40 per cent reduction in reactive risk to operations work

41 per cent reliability improvement over 36 months

Greater focus on continuous improvement activities

29 per cent reduction in preventive work without an increase in reactive work.
The facility utilises SECURED Asset Management by Downer™, a proprietary
asset management system that incorporates a number of innovative design,
construction and system features that place it at an international best
practice standard.
The SECURED Asset Management by Downer™ system takes a whole of asset
integrated approach that addresses the planning, operation, maintenance,

ISO is an international organisation recognised by the United Nations
and the World Trade Organisation with the primary objective of setting
