AECOM appoints senior
infrastructure executive Renaye Peters to lead its Brisbane office

New leader to drive market growth in South East Queensland
AECOM: a
premier, fully integrated infrastructure firm, has appointed Renaye
Peters, former
Brisbane Airport and
Leighton Contractors executive, to
lead its Brisbane office, effective immediately.
As the director for South East Queensland, Ms. Peters will be
responsible for overseeing a team of around 700 multi-disciplinary
professionals and driving the regional growth strategy, reporting to
North West Australian Regional Managing Director David Hogarth. After
Sydney and
Melbourne, Brisbane is AECOM’s third-largest Australian
office.
Mr. Hogarth, commented, “For many years Renaye has been a client of AECOM and we are delighted that she has now chosen to lead our Brisbane team. She brings a wealth of experience to the role, which will be critical in helping AECOM grow along with the Queensland’s economy, while maintaining a focus on client service excellence.”
A registered architect and
graduate of Queensland University of Technology, Ms. Peters is a Fellow
of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. During her 25-year
career, she has held a number of
senior leadership roles within the
construction, infrastructure, property and mining industries. Ms.
Peters’ experience includes a decade at Leighton Contractors, where she
was strategic development manager, three years at Brisbane Airport
Corporation as general manager property and most recently as a director
at architectural firm Conrad Gargett.
Reflecting on her new role, Ms. Peters said, “With the Commonwealth Games looming and a number of significant infrastructure projects helping to reshape the way people live, work and play in the region, there is genuine momentum building in the South East Queensland market. Beyond infrastructure, the energy transition underway presents a number of opportunities for AECOM’s renewable energy practice.”
AECOM is actively pursuing a number of significant transit-related infrastructure projects in the pipeline for South East Queensland, including Cross River Rail, Brisbane Live Stadium and Brisbane Metro.
Ms. Peters continues, “Over the past few years, AECOM has adapted to some challenging economic times in Queensland by creating a more agile and diverse business that is profitable and well positioned for growth along with Queensland’s expanding economy. I was attracted to AECOM because of its collaborative culture, relentless client focus, combined with its significant investments in workforce diversity and the genuine flexibility it offers its employees.”
AECOM recently launched the first-ever term-time contracts that allow engineers with caring responsibilities to take all school holidays off and receive a regular pro-rata salary.
Since 2016, AECOM has taken on 51
graduates in Brisbane and expects another 31 to join in the 2018 intake,
a total of 82 graduates in three years.
