The redevelopment of Sydney Fish Market will bring world-class food and dining facilities to Sydney Harbour.

As part of the Bays Precinct Urban Transformation program, Sydney Fish Market will relocate to Blackwattle Bay.

The $250 million-plus redevelopment will include provisions for the restoration of public access from Wentworth Park through to the waterfront.

Danish architects 3XN will lead the design team that includes Sydney firms BVN and Aspect Studios. They will work with other key stakeholders, including UrbanGrowth NSW and Sydney Fish Market, to develop the design.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said a fresh look for the iconic fish market is long overdue.

“3XN has done some remarkable work in waterfront locations around the world and we cannot wait to see what they have planned for this popular Sydney attraction,” Ms Berejiklian said.

The community will get a chance to comment on the draft design later this year, with a plan to start construction in late 2018.
